THE HISTORY

Jay and I had been jammin since the mid 80's and the Rock and Roll monster was born. We had learned our respected instruments and was writing our own material and playing our favorite cover songs. All we needed was the right guy to fill the bottom end of things. After numerous band endeavors nothing ever really worked out. Then in the fall of 1990 a drummer in a local band ( Brian Stecklein ), thought the three of us should get together with him on bass and see what happens. Well, by the summer of 91' we had written some originals and headed to a recording studio to record a four song E.P. With Brian's drumming duties in his other band we never played live. In 1992, we had written some more songs and by summer we recorded another E.P. with three original songs and one cover tune. The band still never played live. In 1995 we recorded another three song E.P. all originals but with a little darker twist to the Space Madness sound. After that, the band kind of went there seperate ways with Lance moving to Florida and Wichita. Like a boomerang I came back and Space Madness was alive again. Fall of 2000, one of our good friends was having a birthday and his girlfriend asked us to play a suprise birthday party for him. We still had never played live together. Well, we couldn't say no. So we worked up some cover tunes and some originals and played live for the first time on Feb 3rd, 2001. It went really well and we played a couple more shows until Brian's other band retired in Oct. 2003. Since then, Space Madness has gotten better, tighter, louder and can rock with the best of em'. There's not any other band that I would rather be a part of............Lancer
